What is Garba?
Garba (Gujarati: ગરબા) is a form of Gujarati traditional dance which originates from one of the state Gujarat in West of India. The name is derived from the Sanskrit term Garbha meaning womb. Garba is a dance that honors, worships, and celebrates the feminine form of divinity.
Traditionally, the dance is performed by women in a circle around a clay lantern with a light inside or a photo of Goddess Amba or Durga as symbol of feminine form of divinity during Navratri Festival
